[Committee] Merry Christmas from Steve to The Zero Carbon Committee

Dear Committee,
Thanks for a brilliant term! We've done lots of exciting things this term
and there is plenty of potential for next term too. Stephen has been
incapcitated with typhoid much of this term, but gladly is now fully
recovered and will be writing to the society soon.

I've now left the University and so will be looking for a job in climate
change mitigation or energy policy: I won't be too involved with our
activities in Cambridge University but hopefully will be continuing the
society's work in other arenas (perhaps business or government).

I enclose the documents that we have developed this term and over the last
couple of weeks:

a) Our Constiution

b) The Zero Carbon Society Committee

c) Information Sheet about the Society, containing our aims plus an initial
plan for politicians.

d) List of possible Speakers for Next Term

e) Schedule for next term.
f) List of committee defined roles at present.

g) Minutes of a strategy meetings in December.

We have a very exciting foundation from which to grow. Next term I think we
should both continue the activities in Cambridge and also reach out to the
wider debate in the UK and the world.

In Cambridge the most important thing in the New Year is to have venues for
our talks next term: then we can invite speakers (we have a long list of
people who would like to speak).
There are also some very exciting working group projects ahead, such as
developing proposals for education/awareness (January) and helping
consulting with Cambridge City Council to make new housing developments
low-emissions (February). Perhaps we will develop press releases for our
talks and aim to spread the word on the web.


Thanks again for making the society such a success, and I wish you all the
very best for 2007.
