Hello family and friends,

I am happy to inform you that:
"the Working Group II contribution to the 'Climate Change 2007'
Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
(IPCC) has been approved during the Plenary Meeting and presented to
the press in Brussels on 6 April 2007."

In other words:
The report on the impacts of climate change has been approved... at last!
We did it!

This file is a summary prepared by the "leading authors" who have
spent the week in Brussels for the Plenary meeting with
representatives from more than 100 governments.
This document is also available on-line: http://www.ipcc.ch/

Negotiations in Brussels, between scientists and government
representatives, were very difficult, the document had to be approved
line by line. We had to modify the text and the map several times...I
prepared the last version of the map (page 5) on Wednesday night after
my German class...

The big book should come out in the next months:
"Climate Change 2007 - Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability"
(Cambridge University Press). The good thing is that the book is going
to be available for free online too! (so we do have to waste paper..
912 pages)
