Dear Cambridge society leaders,

The time is now fast approaching when we will have to start making final
preparations for the Societies† Fair.  I have pencilled in a deadline of
1st September for the close of applications, and we will begin processing
stall assignments as soon as possible.  Be aware that we cannot necessarily
guarantee an allocation for any client simply because an application has
been made; the Fair will take place on the 2nd and 3rd Oct (Tue and Wed).

I also wanted to take this opportunity to let you know that I hope to make
better use of the opt-in societies† mailing list this year.  We will
probably start with a weekly or bi-weekly bulletin, and I will be welcoming
your feedback throughout Michaelmas.

If anyone is uber-keen, let me know quickly if you want to be included in
a short socs directory in the Cambridge guide.  There†s limited space,
and I may use a combination of first-come, first-serve and which societies
had the best entries in Re:Fresh earlier this year.

Don†t forget that we continue to add equipment to the Equipment Rental
scheme, plan on renewing last year†s successful Society Training events,
and are working hard to try to make central storage space for you a
reality.  Continue to update your entries in the Societies† Directory,
and we will keep adding functionality and convenience.

Finally, the University has asked me to pass on to you news of a new Arts,
Humanities, and Social Sciences Festival to be held the 22nd through the
31st of October.  Any societies interested in putting forward an idea for
an event or finding out more about the Festival is asked to contact Nicola
Buckley, njb1010 at cam.ac.uk or telephone (7)64069.
