Hi, I wonder if you can assist.
I write to you on behalf of the Jersey Committee for the Channel Island
Group of Professional Engineers. We are a group of some 500 or so
engineers belonging to various institutions, ICE, IMechE, IET etc.
As our members can't all travel practically to UK lectures and seminars,
we try to organize about 5 or 6 evening lectures per year in the Channel
Islands. Traditionally our speakers fly to Guernsey for a lecture on a
Wednesday evening, then on to Jersey on the Thursday night. I include
our website address below for information.
I note from your recent lectures programme there has been one titled
"Carbon Calculation and Your Personal Footprint" by Rosemary Randall and
Andy Brown. Would it be possible to have their contact details as I wish
to ask them on behalf of the Jersey Committee whether one or both would
be prepared to visit the Channel Islands at a mutually convenient date
in 2008 to speak to our Members on the subject. This looks like a
fascinating topic and at our recent Committee meeting it was decided to
try to pursue this lecture for one of our 2008 talks.
The Channel Islands Group of Professional Engineers (CIGPE) will cover
flights, accommodation and expenses for the duration of the speakers'
stay, although we are a non-profit organisation so we couldn't make
payment for the lecture.
It would be great if you could assist in providing me with the speakers'
contact details as requested so that I could approach them directly. Or,
if that was not possible due to privacy etc, would it be possible to ask
them on my behalf if they would be interested.
