Hello all concerned with "Green Week" 22nd-29th October.
I hope all of you are aware of the week that is going to be taking place in
October full of speaker events, debates, discussions, films and socials.
I have attached a timetable of the events we have confirmed so far.
EVENT ORGANISERS: I have also attached a form to be filled in by anyone
organising an event and return it to me asap! This is very important as
things like risk assessments need to be considered.
However I will be needing some help coordinating and publicising the week:
1) Website / Webdesigner: We do not have one yet if there is anyone who
would be willing to set up a website and help maintain it in the run up to
the week, please can they get in touch.
2) Budget: For the week we want to produce an A5 week programme to hand out
at Freshers fair and an A5 booklet documenting all the weeks event and
outcomes. For this we need money!
Sponsorship: Does anyone have any contacts in organisations to ask for
sponsorship in return for a branding of there logo on our website, posters,
weeks programme etc.
Publicity Budget: Do societies have money they will put into a publicity
fund. I am looking into quotes for using all recycled materials to produce
the event programme.
Designers: Does anyone know anyone willing to design the week's programme
and outcomes booklet.
I think is we can form a central committee for the publicity of the week,
preferably including one member from each event-organising committee, then
this week will stand a much better chance of being the great success that
it deserves to be.
I hope that anyone who is head of an environmental society (or any society
for that matter!) can forward this on to try and recruit more help.
Thanks very much, I hope to hear from lots of willing volunteers soon!
