Sorry i only just got to my emails. I've sent this in (in case not too
late):
"Thanks to the ease of communication provided by Facebook, over 160,000
students from across the USA and Europe signed up to turn their lights off
for 5 minutes to draw attention to the need to reduce our energy usage.
Although this event was centred in France and so didn't seriously take off
in the UK, it was fantastic to see that so many students did sign up because
events like this both raise awareness and demonstrate the huge level of
support for changes in government policy."
I know it's not great but I'm running 20mins late for my Spanish lesson - am
hoping I'll get time to write something properly to send in another time.
Nicky

Could someone please write to Peter Wood, Editor of TCS at prhw2 at cam.ac.uk.
He would like our society to make some comment on the lights out action that
happened last Thursday so he can quote us in his article. It only has to be
a few lines at most. Maybe with a few facts a figures about the action that
took place and whether cambridge people were involved. It can be very a
general statement if noone knows any specifics. Nicky or Pablo do you want
to do this? He wants this info in the next hour if possible as the
finalised newspaper will be ready at the end of today.
Thanks,
Stephen
P.S. He also said he would be very happy to consider articles written by
CZCS for publication in TCS at any time. He told me as long as the article
is about issues that cambridge students are thinking about or participating
in then publication becomes quite easy.
