Buildings should be designed to feature an excellent thermal envelope, by
consequent prevention of thermal bridging and air leakage.

For strongly insulated houses, most of the heat is lost by air circulation
to the outside, if no appropriate measures are taken. Thus, air-tightness
is an important development criterion.
