But why would anyone want photovoltaics? They have vast embodied energy are
very expensive, don't give any power when it is needed (in the winter). They
are typical green symbolism - I don't see why on earth we should waste our
time on this sort of thing.
Hypnotise yourself to the death of the planet if you want, but don't ask me
to sign up too.

Hi everyone,

The green officer at queens' has been trying for ages to convince the
college to put photovoltaics on the roof of the fourth floor of the cripps
building currently being built.  The college is demanding that she gives
them full details about costing/feasibility/potential output etc and she
doesn't have the resources to work all this out herself so it would be great
if either the energy supply or use working group could do some work on this.

Please could whoever leads the relevant working group get in contact with
Fran Boait fcb27 at cam.ac.uk to see where she's got to and how you could help.
