Dear Committee,
Marc: On student journalism: There's also BlueSci
http://www.srcf.ucam.org/bluesci/ (Cambridge science magazine) and The
Triple Helix http://www.thetriplehelix.org/ - international journal of
science, law and society.
I mentioned before about making new housing developments in Cambridge zero
carbon. I had an excellent meeting with Eithne Flannaghan at the city
council just before Christmas. We can MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE by helping out
in the CONSULTATION for the sustainable building annex to the Cambridge City
Plan in end of January/early February. If you are interested (Gillian?) next
meeting of CAMACAG will be 11th January 8pm-10pm @ CB1. (Contact Geoff
Wexler.)
Hope the carbon calculator is helpful: probably possible to upgrade it so it
can be used for students/people who don't know their bills (Robin Smith
happy to help on Carbon Rationing stuff: robincsco at hotmail.com)
I've updated the website: htpp://camsoc.zerocarbonnow.org with all the new
stuff, including a google discussion group. Please feel free to supercede
this to a new site with Wikipedia wiki when ready.
Finally, there is a funding deadline for active communities fund (education
and awareness) on 24th January.

This is probably the most important thing to concentrate on, since it is an
opportunity to get FUNDING for EDUCATION & AWARENESS ACTIVITIES and I got
the impression that there is much more cash from this route than the others
we have tried. The applications take quite a long time so if you want to do
it, then there will need to be more than one person involved.
This is probably the best thing to concentrate on!
That's probably quite enough for now! I'll be concentrating on policy/energy
economics stuff on a national level.
Best wishes,
Steve

Hi and happy new years to you all!
here's something I got from a person involved with the Berry (the student
newspaper over the whole spectrum of political thinking, or so they claim).
Not sure whether we can be considered political, but might be worth
thinking about getting some articles into student newspapers (I wouldn't
mind getting one into a real one either of course, but rigorous thinking
has convinced me that might be even harder).
Just a thought, cu soon again,
Marc

Dear Christine,
Just a quick note to say that I am currently putting together the political
events calendar for next term's edition of the Berry.
It would be great to feature the CSAAT events once again. Also, if you know
of any other societies holding speaker meetings, ralleys or debates etc.,
we would love to include them too.
Therefore, if you would be able to send us details of times, locations and
brief descriptions of any events, we will do our best to include them.
Best wishes,
Roland
