hi nicki, thanks! totally agree with the objectives etc (and cheers for 
catching the typo!)

at one point the introduction was the first thing displayed (rather than 
the events). i've added a link to the (as yet unwritten) introduction 
from the main page and added a top-menu "about" section; it may be that 
the introduction will move elsewhere but let's start here :)

anyone volunteer to write the society objectives? maybe something from 
the constitution or the funding applications? i tried to find a copy on 
the wiki but didn't spot it?
